What buyers specify first

• Publish external dimensions, internal dimensions and weight — cabin acceptance is decided on all three.
• Fabric carriers need a load rating for the handle and a stated maximum pet weight, tested not estimated.
• Hard crates should state the IATA-conformant variant explicitly if you are selling to travellers.
• Car seats need the crash-test standard of the destination market; without it the product cannot be marketed as a car seat.

Product-level reports are issued per order against the destination market: EU REACH, LFGB for food-contact items, CPSIA and ASTM F963 for the United States. Tell us the market at enquiry stage and the applicable test list goes into the quotation.

This is the one category where a missing certificate is a product defect, not a paperwork delay. Confirm the standard before sampling, because the internal structure often has to change to pass.

Crates and strollers are volumetric: a single unit can occupy more container space than two hundred collars. Freight is almost always dimensional, and knock-down construction is the main cost lever.
